Virginia is a development professional with interests in gender and vulnerable groups, voice and accountability and poverty alleviation. She has extensive public and private sector experience with over 16 years’ practice in international and national organizations. She believes in Legal and Regulatory policies as a foundation for equity and sustainable development. She fights for the rights of women using the policies and helps the government and local authorities develop frameworks to respect women’s rights. She has developed several programmes aimed at empowering women, children and youth through skills, and has worked with other CSOs to influence several policies, including Nigeria Gender Policy, FOI bill, Child Trafficking bill, and more. An expert in organisational development and passionate about the vulnerable, Virginia is a Vital Voices Fellow. Her mission is to empower women, children and youth for self-sustainability and influence policies that affect them.
