Mr. Sokea Yoem is a counseling project manager for Hagar International Foundation based in Cambodia. Sokea was born in Kampong Speu province, south of Cambodia on 20th December 1987. He graduated his BA in Psychology in 2012 and Master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology in 2015 from Royal University of Phnom Penh. Sokea has been working for Hagar since 2012 serving women and children who are the victims of extreme human right abuses and trauma – slavery, human trafficking, and sexual abuse. He works with these victims walking together the whole journey to recovery from trauma by providing various evidence based modalities such as Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eyes Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Art Therapy, and Family Therapy.
