Award-winning human rights and counter-extremism activist
Sara Khan is an award-winning human rights and counter-extremism activist. Sara is also author of the new book, The Battle for British Islam: Reclaiming Muslim Identity from Extremism. She co-founded Inspire one of the UK’s leading women’s rights and counter-extremism organisation in 2008 and is currently co-director.
She has written numerous comment pieces for magazines and newspapers and has appeared on both BBC HardTalk and Desert Island Discs. Her activism has received national and international recognition and she has been profiled in the Guardian, the Sunday Times, the Independent and Vogue magazine. She was named by BBC Woman’s Hour as one of the Top 10 most influential women in 2015 and in 2016 was recognised as one of Britain’s most influential people in Debrett’s War and Peace category as someone who is working towards peace and stability in the United Kingdom.
