ILO’s Special Action Programme to Combat Forced Labour

Ms Beate Andrees is the head of ILO’s Special Action Programme to Combat Forced Labour (SAP-FL), based in Geneva, Switzerland. SAP-FL promotes policy development, research, and provides advisory services on action against forced labour, human trafficking and slavery. She coordinated ILO’s efforts towards the adoption of a new Protocol and Recommendation on modern forms of forced labour in June 2014. In her previous positions with ILO, Ms Beate Andrees supported the implementation of technical cooperation programmes in various countries. Before joining the ILO, she worked for the German Parliament and as a lecturer at the Free University of Berlin, Germany.  She has published widely on issues related to forced labour, migration and human rights.
