Aria is an undergraduate honors student at the University of Rhode Island (URI), triple majoring in Communication Studies, Political Science, and Philosophy. A passionate advocate for gender equality and the rights of people with disabilities, Ms. Loberti’s activism, which began locally, has led her to the United Nations and UN Women. At the U.N., she is a U.S. youth delegate, speaker, and Outstanding Youth Award recipient.
Using writing and public speaking as a catalyst for gender and disability equity, she has been featured in such forums as the Huffington Post and TEDx. An aspiring academic, Ms. Loberti already presents and publishes her research at the professional level, supported by URI’s Harrington School of Communication & Media. Scholarship, she believes, is her own most potent form of activism; some of the most critical elements of civil change are the academic efforts that strive to make sense of our public discourse, lives, and identities.
