Social Justice Advocate
Lisa Parsons is a social justice advocate residing in Atlanta, Georgia. Professionally, a family nurse practitioner specializing in women’s health and the relationship of stress and disease, she is a strong supporter of individual and collective women’s empowerment. Presently, she is the Co-Director of the Posts for Peace and Justice project. She designs and implements community engagement workshops involving deep group conversations and collaboratively produced public art designed to start conversations that inspire action. As Social Justice Coordinator of One Billion Rising Atlanta she focuses on ending violence and inequities that disproportionately affect women and girls and people of color, including human trafficking.
