Founder, Integrated Women Development Centre: Peace Home
Sr. Rose Paite MSMHC hails from the state of Mizoram. She belongs to an indigenous missionary congregation in North East India. From 2001, she dedicated her life to women drug users, alcoholics, women in distress, HIV-infected women and their children, leading her to found “Integrated Women Development Centre: Peace Home”. She was awarded the Nightingale of Mizoram prize for her work in 2010.
Currently she serves as the General Councilor for Social Apostolate and the director of the Centre for Development Initiatives, the Social Development office of the congregation. She works passionately for 18,000 domestic workers; for their legislation, rights, dignity and solidarity. Preventing the vulnerable tea garden workers of Assam from human trafficking and unsafe migration is her area of special interest.
