Survivor and President of Safety First Foundation
Deependra Giri is a survivor of labor trafficking and the Founder/President of Safety First Foundation, a Nepalese NGO working to raise awareness on human trafficking, modern day slavery and forced labor. Originally from Nepal, Deependra worked in Qatar for several years in deplorable conditions as a modern day slave. In recent years Deependra has worked with several academics and trafficking experts, assisting them with their research into modern-day slavery & gulf migration. Deependra has a powerful story and is also uniquely articulate about the harrowing realities he faced in forced labor.
