Maryna is a youth worker and a PhD researcher at the University of Palermo, Italy. Her research focuses on domestic violence and migration in the context of generation 1.5, including forced marriage as a form of human trafficking. Originally from Ukraine, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the National Technical University of Ukraine ‘KPI’ (magna cum laude) and a master’s degree from the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management in Kiev, Ukraine. She is currently based in Italy. Maryna has worked with domestic violence and human trafficking survivors, as well as young migrants in Ukraine, Thailand and Italy since 2013.
