Laurent Bonnefoy

Laurent Bonnefoy is a CNRS research fellow at the Centre d’études et de recherches internationales (CERI-Sciences Po) in Paris. He holds a PhD in International Relations and has worked extensively on Islamist movements and contemporary religious identities in the Arabian Peninsula. Based as a researcher in Sanaa for a total of four years, he has also worked in Palestine for two years where he headed the local branch of the Institut français du Proche-Orient (IFPO). He is the author of Salafism in Yemen. Transnationalism and Religious Identity (Hurst & Co./ Columbia University Press, 2012) and has co-edited (with Franck Mermier and Marine Poirier) Yémen. Le Tournant Révolutionnaire (Karthala/CEFAS, 2012).
