International Organization for Migration (IOM)
Dipina Sharma Rawal joined the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in 2010 and has been working in close coordination with the Government of Nepal in providing operational and policy support on issues related to land, property and reparations.
She has conducted several in depth studies that have helped identify gaps and weaknesses in the existing legislative provisions. These legislations have direct influence on women’s access, control and ownership over land and property in Nepal. She has designed ingenious and effective outreach tools for reaching the most marginalized communities. These tools are being used to help promote women’s rights to land and property in Nepal. In addition, she has been successfully training women community leaders to enable them to advocate on women’s land and property rights. This has allowed women further independence.
