Chief Executive, Alliance for Peace & Disability Rights (APDR)
Ihsan is a human rights activist, community development practitioner and a social worker by profession. He received his Post Graduation in Post War Recovery Study from the University of York, United Kingdom. He also holds an MPhil Degree in Rural Development. He is the co- founder Executive Director of Human Development Promotion Group (HDPG), an NGO working for peace and for the promotion of basic human rights in Pakistan. Ihsan is also the co-founder Chief Executive of Alliance for Peace & Disability Rights (APDR), an NGO working to promote peace and tolerance in the society, protect human rights and improve the living standards of disabled and other vulnerable people of the society. He has worked on small arms and Landmines in the tribal areas of Pakistan. He has the experience of managing projects on rehabilitation of disabled, violence against women, women empowerment and promotion of human rights in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Ihsan has more than 12-year direct experience of working as a front line social worker/care manager in variety of settings and with diverse clients in the United Kingdom and has attended various trainings on care needs assessments and management, domestic violence, forced marriages, modern slavery, human rights, child protection and adult safeguarding etc. Currently, he is the Chief Executive of Alliance for Peace & Disability Rights (APDR) and is working for greater disability rights in Pakistan and around the world.
