Boram is currently working as Vice Secretary-General at MINBYUN-Lawyers for a Democratic Society in the Republic of Korea. Using UN human rights mechanisms, she works with NGOs, NHRI, and the government in the Republic of Korea to identify human rights violations and to develop policy recommendations, especially in the areas of discrimination against women and migrants.
Before joining MINBYUN, she worked as a human trafficking research coordinator at IOM Republic of Korea. Ms. Jang managed a two-year research project funded by the U.S. Department of State on the forced labour of migrant workers on Korean fishing vessels. She also worked with the National Human Rights Commission of Korea to develop identification indicators for victims of human trafficking.
