Co-Founder, Family Legal Clinic
Shafeea Riza is the co-founder and co-chairperson of the Family Legal Clinic, a civil society organisation based in the Maldives providing pro bono legal services and awareness in the areas of family and domestic violence issues. The Family Legal Clinic, which was co-founded in 2014, is the first of its kind in the Maldives that focuses on increasing access to legal representation for survivors of domestic violence and men, women and children struggling with family related issues. Shafeea read law at King’s College London and completed her Master of Laws in Corporate and Financial Services Law from the National University of Singapore. She also read decision-making and public policy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
