Tsuma, Drukpa Order
Jigme Konchok is from Keylong Village, Himachal Pradesh (India). She is passionate about environmental sustainability and gender equality. In the wake of the Nepal earthquake, she played a leadership role in relief efforts with the Drukpa Order, traveling to some of the most remote parts of Nepal to assist the hardest-to-reach women and girls. While there, she heard from poor families forced into selling their young girls. These stories led to the 2016 Bicycle Yatra – a 5,000-kilometer journey through some of the most remote Himalayan villages to raise awareness about human trafficking and demonstrate the strength of women.
